School Council Elections

School Council Elections for the 2018-2019 School Year

Apply today!  Serving on the DES School Council provides a great volunteer opportunity for parents to serve the school and community. The council is focused on student achievement and school improvement and monitors criteria such as attendance / enrollment, finance, school improvements, extra-curricular activities, teacher reports and student academic reports. They serve as a voice for issues from the local school to the Board of Education.

The candidate declaration window for our 2018-2019 Principal Advisory Council is now open. From now until Friday, August, 31st, you will be able to declare your candidacy as a teacher or parent representative on the Council. Elections will be held in September and the positions will meet during the 2018-2019 school year.  Our council typically elects positions for 2 years, on a rotating basis so that we keep half the council in place every year.  For the coming year, we have both 1-year and 2-year terms open for a total of 5 positions.

All candidate declarations must be submitted online. Access electronic forms and campaigning guidance at the District’s Principal Advisory Council website: http://www.dekalbschoolsga.org/school-councils/.

Please select Fall Elections from the menu on the left and then select Parent Declaration Form.

Thank you for taking part in this important process!
