I am delighted to extend a warm hello to you as the new Principal of Dunwoody Elementary School. It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I begin this journey, dedicated to fostering a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for our students.

As we embark on this new chapter together, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kanessa V. Fain, and I am honored to serve as your new Principal. For the past 24 years, I've dedicated myself to DeKalb County Schools, starting out as a teacher and progressing to roles as: Assistant Principal, Academic Coach, District Reading Coordinator and District MTSS Coordinator. Witnessing students flourish under strong school-home partnerships has always been my passion. In my latest role, I helped develop the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports, a school improvement framework for ensuring all students receive the resources they need to succeed. I am deeply committed to the success and well-being of every student, and I am dedicated to collaborating with you to ensure that each child reaches their full potential.

As your new principal, I believe that education is a partnership between school and home. Your involvement and support are invaluable, and I encourage you to actively participate in your child's educational journey. Whether it's volunteering in the classroom, attending school events, or engaging in conversations with teachers/staff, your presence makes a significant difference in your child's academic and social-emotional growth.
